David Nyheim (INCAS Consulting Board Representative)


David is the INCAS Board representative to AfCAS. He has extensive experience in dialogue process design and facilitation, stabilisation strategy development, early warning and risk assessment, and work on armed violence reduction. Prior to joining INCAS, he served for six years as the Director of the Forum for Early Warning and Early Response (FEWER) and held several policy and research positions in the European Commission and universities (Belgium and United Kingdom). As a consultant, David has worked for governments, United Nations agencies, and corporations in the North Caucasus, West Africa, South and Southeast Asia, and the Pacific. He is trained in political science (McGill), public health (Louvain and LSHTM), and economics (London School of Economics). David is fluent in English, French, Norwegian, and Italian.

Fatima Kyari Mohammed, Senior Expert and Managing Partner


Prior to joining AfCAS/INCAS, Fatima was Programme Manager, Regional Cooperation for West Africa with the European Union Delegation to Nigeria and Regional Project Manager for Security Policy Projects in West Africa with the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung. Her thematic expertise is on regional integration, conflict prevention, peace and security, social and economic development. She has worked with a number of international and regional organisations including ECOWAS, UEMOA, AU, GIZ, UN agencies, as well as NGOs, CSOs, researchers, and experts both in the public and private sector. Fatima is trained in Sustainable Economic Development (UN University of Peace, Costa Rica), and Business Communications (European University, Switzerland). She speaks English, French, and Hausa.


Dakoru Atukpa, Managing Partner


Atukpa is a Director of Africa Conflict and Security (AfCAS) Consulting. He is a professional development planner and trainer as well as business and investment adviser with experience spanning over fifteen years. He has wide experience in project management and leadership training, the design, development and implementation of development interventions, business and investment analysis, conflict management and socio-economics survey especially in the application of PRA/PLA tools and conventional survey methods. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biological Sciences, a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management and a Masters Degree in Business Management (MBA - Marketing). In addition, he has an advanced Certificate in Environment and Community Development, a Certificate in Development Planning and Management, He has facilitated several development projects, intervened in conflict and reconciliation for several communities, and organized leadership related trainings, both within and outside Nigeria.
